But 96 and newer cars that fail the first time have to go to a private garage for re-inspection. Currently, inspection can be done at a state facility (at no charge) or a private garage (you have to pay).

There is also exemptions on newer vehicles depending on weight.

Or just move the South Carolina, where we have no inspections, no emissions, and free glass coverage.

Wait...did you say New Jersey? Nevermind- we don’t want anybody from Jersey moving here. :-P

Psssh. I’m the least southern carolinian you’ll ever meet. I have no southern pride. I just know that if you’re a gearhead? Where I live is a good place to be.

I kid. It was the strangest thing when I was there. Been to a few weddings and for some reason ‘the war’ always came up... and how they couldn’t believe the damn Yankees were there... or that the bride was marrying a Yankee.

Legit shocking. Was not prepared for that.

Odd. That’s actually really rare where I’m at. Then again, Greenville is easily one of the most progressive cities in the state.

Reason number 5 why I like living in Michigan.

(Please don’t ask about 1-4. I can tell you that reasons number 1-7 on why I DON’T like include bagels three times and pizza twice.)
